Course Description

In these 4 hours I will introduce you to the Beginners level of mesh 3D modelling in Autodesk Maya and in 10 procedural steps you will be finishing the class at level Intermediate of mesh 3D modelling. The design concept of this project is a Shell, the Architectural typology is a Concert Hall.

Concert Halls are great pieces for fluidity and extravagant concepts and Maya is the software par excelente to model many of the concepts that we know - from NYC facade by Zaha Hadid Architects; Sverdlovsk Philharmonic; to the Harbin Opera House of MAD.

This Concert Hall is an original piece designed by me and made exclusively for this Class.

Course Structure

In the First 2 hours of this class you will learn how to 3d model in a Lowpoly fluid mesh a Shell Structure that is the base of the Concert Hall envelope. In 10 steps you will gradually shift to intermediate-level 3D model techinques together with me. You will end the first part of the class with a lowpoly 3d model of the base Exterior shell of the Concert-Hall, the seating arrangements that flows from inside to the exterior and a fluid landscape design around that blends-in with the building.

In the second and Last 2 hours of this class you will learn how to 3d model in HighPoly for fluid mesh design. This will be a fully Intermediate level of 3D modelling that is required to design the Interiors of the Concert Hall. This last part of the course includes the design of the raised balconies, the seating arrangement, the stage and ends with the advanced design of the ceiling, introducing the use of the most common deformer in Maya, the lattice. This wraps up 4 hours of pure intense 3D modelling in maya.
